廖世军,1958年出生,湖北鄂州人,博士,华南理工大学教授,应用化学学科(广东省重点学科)学科带头人, 广东省燃料电池技术重点实验室主任,兼任中国化学会催化专业委员会委员, 中国化学会电化学专业委员会委员,中国仪表材料学会动力电源专业委员会委员, 教育部基础化学教学指导委员会委员, 国际刊物Journal of Nanomaterials杂志副主编,Current Nanoscience, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology-Asia,Journal of Microphysics等三种国际刊物的编委, 广东化工常务编委, 华南理工大学学报编委。曾先后在南非、加拿大、美国访问研究。

1. 主持和完成各类科研项目30余项;其中省级以上科研项目10项;重大项目1项;
2. 在国内外重要刊物发表研究论文200多篇, 其中一区TOP文章30余篇,在国际化学类顶级刊物Journal of American Chemical Society上发表论文2篇;先后有多篇文章先后被 Nature China、Nature Asia、Chemistry World、Nature Materials 等选为Highlight文章。
3. 申请国家发明专利20项,已获得授权9项;其中申请美国发明专利2项;
4. 广东省科技厅鉴定成果 3项;
5. 获教育部高等学校科技进步二等奖1项,教育部高等学校自然科学二等奖1项,中国石油与化工协会科技进步三等奖1项, 广州市科技进步三等奖1项;
5. 参编出版编著2本, 其中1本在国际著名出版社SPRINGER出版社出版。
6. 多项应用成果应用于生产实际, 取得巨大经济效益并获得奖励;在国内开创性地开展了羧酸/烯烃直接酯化的研究工作,并率先将成果实现了产业化应用。成果目前已在全国10多家单位应用,年产值达到约100亿元人民币。
7. 在燃料电池的基础研究和应用研究方面成就卓著,主持完成了广东300KW燃料电池电站,燃料电池-锂离子电池混合电力电动车等一系列重大项目;科技日报、科学时报、南方日报、南方电视台等媒体进行了大量的报道。
