谢续明清华大学教授,1981年4月由教育部公派去日本留学。1985年3月毕业于日本信州大学,1987和1990年3月先后在东京工业大学获硕士和博士学位。1990年4月起在日本昭和电工公司做研究员。1992年回国工作。1999年在清华大学化工系晋升为教授。1999、2001和2005年分别在日本东京工业大学、美国明尼苏达大学、日本中央大学做访问教授。主要研究领域是高分子物理化学、聚合物材料结构和性能。最近主要从事纳米材料的修饰和多维自组装、高强纳米物理水凝胶、聚合物的受限凝聚态结构、多组分聚合物体系相结构控制以及反应接枝等的研究。在国内外期刊上发表论文超200 多篇,其中被 SCI 收录180 余篇。获发明专利授权19项、其中国际专利3项。现任中国机械工程学会材料分会副理事长、高分子材料专业委员会主任;中国化学会高分子学科委员会委员;中国复合材料学会理事、民用产品结构与应用专业委员会副主任;中国材料研究学会高分子材料科学与工程分会常务委员,以及《机械工程材料》杂志编委会副主任,《Chinese Chemical Letters》、《Chinese Journal of Polymer Science》、《功能高分子学报》、《高分子材料科学与工程》和《中国塑料》杂志编委。国家自然科学基金委员会第十四届专家评审组专家。获日本学术振兴会(JSPS)访问学者基金,美国明尼苏达大学化工与材料系杰出访问教授以及ELSEVIER出版机构颁发的“Polymer”杂志第一届“Feng Xingde Polymer Prize”。

5月10日下午,清华大学谢续明教授在常州大学材料楼219报告厅做了题为“超级复合共混材料”的学术报告,报告会由材料科学与工程学院院长朱卫国主持进行,材料学院部分师生参加了本次报告。
谢续明首先以“塑料再生利用”问题为切入点,与大家分享了其近几年主要研究课题——多相增容剂和多元共混研究、创新点主要是将塑料分为聚烯烃、苯乙烯基聚合物和工程塑料三类,按类别来设计多元共混物及相容剂对塑料进行回收利用。接着,谢续明又为大家展示了其研究制备的高强韧聚合物水凝胶,凝胶网络由多重键键合,使得凝胶具有超高韧性,应用前景广阔。
最后,谢续明与在场的老师及同学针对报告内容进行互动交流,并为大家一一解惑,为学院开展相关学术研究工作提供了灵感和研究思路。
