近期,天津大学范晓彬教授课题组就基于二维纳米材料的单原子电催化剂如何通过电子结构调变实现催化性能增强方面的主要研究成果进行了归纳总结。作者首先介绍了从石墨烯、氮化碳、金属有机框架材料、共价有机骨架材料等前驱体出发制备单原子电催化剂的主要方法,并分析了不同方法在实现单原子电催化剂的可控合成及电子结构调变方面的优缺点。其次,作者介绍了如何通过结合先进表征技术和理论计算来鉴别单原子的配位环境,并揭示配位环境变化对金属中心电子结构的显著影响。随后,作者对当前单原子电催化剂的电子结构调变方法进行了分类总结,并对其中的机理进行了讨论:即(1)改变单原子的局部配位环境;(2)调节单原子在载体上的相对位置(负载在载体的边缘或基面);(3)改变单原子周边的长程原子环境。在此基础上,作者基于电催化氧还原反应(ORR)、析氢反应(HER)、析氧反应(OER)和二氧化碳还原反应(CO2RR),进一步总结了通过电子结构调变引起的催化性能提升机理。最后,作者对今后单原子电催化剂研究的发展方向进行了展望。作者认为,原子级多金属位点的协同催化、高精尖的原位分析表征和更精确的理论计算将会在单原子催化剂的电子结构调变及活性增强方面发挥更加重要的作用。
