董志兵,男,湖北鄂州人,1980年生。博士,湖北省“楚天学者计划”楚天学子,化学与环境工程学院副院长。2007年9月-2008年9月赴德国慕尼黑大学从事访问研究(导师是德国科学院院士Paul Knochel教授);2008年12月博士毕业(德国慕尼黑大学和南开大学联合培养博士);2010年3月-2011年3月,日本东京大学理学院Shu Kobayashi教授小组博士后;2011年3月-2012年4月,在德国亚琛工业大学有机所Carsten Bolm教授(JOC副主编)小组从事洪堡学者研究;2012年5月-至今,受聘武汉工程大学特聘教授。长期从事有有机合成方法学及其应用研究,用以合成有药物活性的化合物以及开发功能性新材料,已经在《Chemistry-A European Journal》、《Organic Letters》、《Green Chemistry》、《European Journalof Organic Chemistry》、《Tetrahedron Letters》、《Synthesis》、《Journal of Organometallic Chemistry》等主流刊物上发表了研究论文约40篇(均被SCI收录)。目前主持国家自然科学基金、教育部留学回国基金、省教育厅科研重点项目等纵向项目4项。研究小组和德国、日本、韩国以及国内科研院所的同行保持紧密的合作和交流。小组经费较为充足,各种化学试剂种类已达600余种,研究室硬件设施良好,能满足有机合成的常规操作。目前的管理和运作模式均参考欧洲实验室。        
主要研究方向:有机合成方法学研究,用以合成有药物活性的化合物以及开发功能性新材料,如:
1)过渡金属催化的C-C,C-N,C-O以及C-S键形成反应;
2)金属有机试剂参与的有机化学反应;
3)功能性配合物的设计合成以及不对称催化;
4)多组分串联反应。
